Pay school fees a term in advance and not a year in advance
Hi Friend,
You have just relocated to Nigeria and everything is new and you are excited about everything.
Please, don’t make the mistake of paying for your children’s school fees a year in advance. Try to pay a term in advance.
Why?
The school will promise you that, there will do this, they will do that. Let me tell you, it will take a long time for the promises to happen. For instance, if you ask them, where is your school library? They answer, we are just buying the books for the library. The books will be in the library by the time, your children start school this term.
Pure lies! Majority of them don’t.
You will have a LOT TO COMPLAIN about in their first term in school. Just make up your mind and tell yourself, the good reasons you choose the school in the first place. If you are married, you know what I am talking about. If problems start in your marriage, just remember, why you choose to marry your spouse out of the millions of women and men in the world.
Please, pay school fees a term in advance. If you are satisfied after one year. Then, you can pay yearly and forget about it.
This will make your transition time in Nigeria a stress free one!

Help your children s school for free
Hi Friend,
In UK or the US, you were very busy with work and there was no time to spend in your children’s school.
Please, try and put your skills, qualifications and experience to use in your children’s school.
Your children will love you for it and the school will appreciate you. Even if they don’t, you are doing it for your children.
Bring suggestions at PTA meetings. But, they may not implement it immediately. It does not mean that, they will not. They may be cash constrained.
Be a cheerful giver of your time. Now, that I am saying this, I need to think of something to do for my children’s school as well.

Dont wast money on Expensive Schools in Lagos, Nigeria. Relocation Tips and Secrets.
Hi Friend,
If you are coming from the UK or USA, you will understand that, free children school are run like Nigerian’s private schools.
I have come to realise that, there is a lot of hype on children’s education in Nigeria. A lot of Proprietor/ess start schools to make money and some of them don’t care about you or your children. It is a money making venture or business for them.
So, what some of them do is to go to Britain and employ an Oyinbo or whiteman or woman. Put them as Headmaster of their school and then, charge the parent “excessive” school fees.
It is unacceptable. I work hard for my money. Some of these expensive schools charge between 500,000 naira to 2 Million Naira per year. For What?
Yes. They are some quality schools in Lagos. I have to say that. But, most of them are hyped.
My advice is to go around your neighbourhood or where you live. Gear yourself up. You will see the good, the bad and the ugly.
Arm yourself with questions to ask and ask them.
You will find some good schools in your area.
Most importantly, speak to the owner and ask what educational qualifications they have and their plans for the school.
My children go to a school near us. Why? The fees are reasonable. It is near to home, so no school bus palaver or problems. They can wake up at a reasonable time in the morning. Academically, the school is great. I have seen improvements in my children’s school work. They have weaknesses in their facilities. But, who cares? What I care about is their education. Also, it is a Christian school. I forgot to add that, my children are picking up Yoruba songs far and they are learning about Nigerian culture.

How to manage your time effectively with Mary Kay
MARY KAY TIME MANAGEMENT SECRETS:
* ALWAYS Attend and Support Company Events.
Try to take guests to EVERY Monday Night Meeting so you can be motivated and trained while your earning!!
* Take New Team Members Along with you to your Skin Care Classes and talk to them in the car on the way. Try not to tie up both of your precious scedules with personal "extra-training" times.
* Listen to Motivational Tapes while you put on ;your make-up in the moring and while riding in the car. Make your car a "college on wheels."
* Try To Do Two Things at Once. For example, why not listen to tape while ironing? Write postcards while you're getting your haircut. Drop deliveries off on the way to your child's ballgame!
* Don't Sweat the Small Stuff! Keep growing form frustrating moments that point to a need to re-prioritize and plan better. Frustration proceeds growth. It's not meant to be a sign to quit!!
* Make a Bug List. Write down those things around the house or in your business that "BUG" you and tempt you to get off track. Scheduling a time to "fix" these pesty items will relieve you of stress.
* Always Be Solution-Oriented not problem oriented! Guard your attitude and your time will be much better utilized!!
